The Wright Cottage was built in the early 1930's on one acre of land that was given to the First Presbyterian Church to be used as a manse for their preacher. Timbers were cut from the land including the wormy chestnut in the living and dining areas. Additions were made as owners and time passed. The house has a master bedroom on the main level with a king size bed; there is a full bath across the hall. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one has one full size bed, and the other two twins. Both of these upper bedrooms share a hallway bath (with walk in shower). There are two TV's, both equipped with Cable- one upstairs and one downstairs. The dining table is a hand crafted solid cherry wood table made by a local craftsman from the Turtle Pond area. The kitchen has a gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and toaster oven. There is a Maytag washer and dryer in the utility/ mudroom. A gas grill and small patio are outside for cooking and dining, and the screened porch is an absolute haven for relaxing with a drink, reading or just visiting. Gas wall heaters will take off the chill if needed while there is an oil furnace for heavy duty heating. From the nicely appointed living room, you will get a fine view of Shortoff Mountain to the left, the Christmas Tree farm and mountain ridges straight ahead, and deep wooded seclusion to the right. This home was remodeled and completely refurbished in 2009. The setting is peaceful and serene-and there is a yard in front for children to play (or for you to do your Tai-Chi exercises in the mornings).
This home will allow pets with a non refundable pet fee of $100. 00 per pet.
This home does NOT allow smoking inside the home.
